George Goldstein

George Goldstein is a director of an international import-export business and has travelled extensively in South and Southeast Asia.  He has an MSc in Development Studies from the LSE, and since 2001 has been involved in setting up and advising an educational NGO in Nepal, HEED Nepal (Health Education Empowerment Development) which now includes an income generating program employing 70 people, adult education, and a program promoting women’s rights.

He was the chair of the project group of UKJAID (UK Jewish Aid for International Development) for many years, and is currently a trustee of DEVRA (Development Evaluation Research Advice), an NGO informed by the jewish traditions of Tikkun Olum – ‘repairing the world’.

He brings to PEGS his business experience, his experience of establishing and doing business in developing countries, and several years’ of grass roots development with and for rural villagers in Nepal."
