Theresa (Terri) Jezeph has a background in nursing and counselling. Over the years she has gained experience working in England, Libya, Sudan and most recently in Thailand
In Thailand she worked for two NGOs.In one she was the Director of Counselling, organising one to one counselling sessions for individuals, couples and families; as well as support activities for the community. One such was to initiate and train a team of prison visitors for the Royal Thai Prison Service, to visit those non-Thai speaking prisoners who needed physiological support.The second NGO provided HIV/AIDS awareness training programmes and residential accommodation for those ostracised by their families and societies because of their HIV/AIDS status.In this organisation Terri supported and trained the staff on dealing with patients with AIDS and lead a programme of local volunteers to act as buddies tothose with AIDSand advocates for their rights.This work also led to a hospice being set up within the main Bangkok prison of prisoners suffering HIV/Aids.
