Glenda Baum, MSc, MCSP.

Glenda Baum has been a practicing physiotherapist for 40 years most of which was spent managing a busy clinic.  She was very involved in physiotherapy politics in specialist areas and at the National level. She invented Aquarobics and wrote three books on the subject. Her most recent book is “The Little Book of Healthy Flying”.

Being married to Harold Baum, a senior Professor at London University and an officer of the Biochemistry Society, gave her an opportunity to travel with him extensively around the world. This nurtured Glenda’s concern for development issues. A visit to a children’s hospital in The Gambia, led her to establish a scheme which sends toys to hospitalised children there.

She feels very deeply about the problems of the world, and has written a blog www.glendasblog-glenda.blogspot.com. However, working part-time as a physiotherapist, being an active grandmother, chairman of a local pressure group and governor of two schools does not leave much time for active development work.

Nonetheless, an ambition is to do field work with PEGS and make a practical contribution.
