Dr Nici Nelson

Dr. Nici Nelson is an anthropologist whose academic specialism for the last 35 years has been gender and development, urbanisation and poverty, development anthropology and the anthropology of development.
She has done numerous programme assessments, project designs and evaluation all in East and South Africa: e.g. for ACCORD, FAO, UNICEF and ERA.
In addition she published in the area of anthropology and development : e.g. Co-edited with Susan Wright Power and Participatory Development , 1995; co-edited with Susan Jones Urban Poverty in Africa: From Understanding to Alleviation, 1999; co-edited with Susan Jones, Practitioners and POVERTY Alleviation: Influencing urban Policy From the Ground Up, 2005.
